One morning, from an uneasy dream, a transformation occurs: the self awakens not as a human body, but as an old television set—echoing Kafka’s The Metamorphosis.
Digital Being: Self Portrait from the Future investigates how identity and self-representation transform within evolving technological environments.
Throughout human history, portraits have functioned as mechanisms for preserving presence, memory, and identity. From painting to photography and digital images, each technological transition has introduced new conditions through which existence can be represented.
Within this work, the Digital Being observes the transformation of the portrait in the digital era. Rather than representing a fixed identity, the image becomes a speculative trace of a future condition—where identity may emerge through data, computation, and continuously changing systems.
The Digital Being does not predict what humans will become. Instead, it examines how technological environments reshape the ways beings are remembered, represented, and understood.
The portrait is no longer a reflection of a physical body, but a trace of an evolving relationship between human, machine, and information.
Digital Being: Self Portrait from the Future observes the emergence of new forms of identity—where the portrait becomes a record of transformation, and the self becomes an evolving digital process.
