Digital Being: Radio Row is an ongoing media archaeological investigation into the hidden memories embedded within technological landscapes.

Located near the historical site of Radio Row, the former center of electronic commerce in Lower Manhattan that disappeared with the construction of the World Trade Center, the project examines the technological layers that remain embedded within the city.

Rather than reconstructing the past, I approach Radio Row as a speculative excavation site where obsolete technologies are collected, observed, and reactivated. CRT televisions, electronic components, and computational systems are not treated as discarded objects, but as technological remnants containing traces of memory, signals, and latent possibilities.

Within this environment, Digital Beings appear as evolving entities emerging through relationships between machines, space, and human presence. Through long-term observation, I investigate how these entities develop behaviors, interactions, and forms of coexistence within a shared technological ecosystem.

The installation functions simultaneously as an archive, laboratory, and living system. Visitors enter a field of relationships where technological remnants reveal unexpected behaviors and generate new forms of interaction.

Radio Row explores the possibility that obsolete technologies are not the remains of a completed era, but active technological strata from which new forms of memory, connection, and existence may emerge.
