Digital Being: What We Made, is a sculptural assemblage comprised of collected discarded circuit boards which present a tableau of the city as a set or accumulation of “complex systems.” With Digital Being, artist Taezoo Park proposes a hypothesis that the interactive errors and crashes which occur between new and old systems can give birth to an imaginary consciousness or “being” within its architecture.
As the modern city evolves into not only a space for human beings but an ideal shelter where the existence itself can flourish, new views and forms conscious existence are sure to emerge. Digital Being represents a possible form for which this new consciousness will take shape.
